Physical Education
The Physical Education program at Atwell Primary School follows the guidelines set out by the Western Australian Curriculum. Students’ learning experiences are relevant, challenging, enjoyable and physically active to improve their physical and mental health. Students in Year One to Year Three develop their Fundamental Movement Skills (e.g. throwing, kicking, and catching) in a safe environment where challenging, but achievable goals are set for all students to experience success.
Students in Year Four to Year Six continue to develop their skills, but in modified sports and games. Here, they are able to develop tactics and techniques to achieve a goal individually or as a part of a team. The aim of the Physical Education program at Atwell Primary School is to equip our students with the skills and confidence to engage in sports and physical activity throughout their lives.
